How Risky is the Procedure and What is the Risk of Nerve Injury?
If you are nervous about treatment, we want to reassure you that modern vein care is designed to be safe and minimally invasive. We prioritize procedures that allow you to get back to your life immediately.
What is the risk of nerve injury and is the procedure risky?
To protect our patients, we utilize a technique called hydrodissection. We use numbing medication and fluid to create a physical “protective barrier” around the vein, separating it from nerves and arteries. This makes the risk of nerve injury extremely rare.
Can you walk immediately after surgery and when can I shower?
There is virtually no downtime. You can walk in and walk out of our center on the same day.
- The Day After: You can remove your bandages and shower.
- Activity: You can return to normal non-strenuous activities immediately, though we suggest waiting two weeks before hitting the gym.
What are the symptoms of a blood clot after surgery?
While major risks like a blood clot (DVT) are extremely rare, we always educate our patients on the symptoms: look for noticeable leg swelling and pain in the calves.
